MotionTech expands into the US market and appoints Kristian Hulgard to lead its North American growth.
MotionTech, a European leader in intralogistics and automation, is officially entering the United States market. The launch marks a significant milestone in the company’s international growth strategy and brings MotionTech’s proven portfolio of automation, packaging, storage and conveying technology closer to customers across North America.
To lead the expansion, MotionTech has appointed Kristian Hulgard as Executive Sales Director for the US market, effective September 1, 2026.
Kristian is an experienced business builder with a strong track record of establishing and scaling commercial operations within the automation industry. Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, he will lead MotionTech’s US business and drive the company’s next phase of growth in the region.
The initial focus of the US launch will be on bringing MotionTech’s end-of-line packaging, storage systems and conveying solutions to American customers, building on the automation and material-handling expertise that has made the group a trusted partner across Europe.
Over time, MotionTech plans to build out a broader commercial and service presence in the United States, supporting customers throughout their automation journey and creating a strong local foundation for long-term growth.
Building on strong demand in the US
While this marks MotionTech’s formal launch in the United States, the company already has an established track record in the market.
In recent years, MotionTech has completed more than 30 installations for US customers, including projects together with major warehouse automation partners such as Dematic and Knapp.
The decision to establish a dedicated US operation is therefore a natural next step, driven by both existing customer demand and the growing need for local support.
“Customers have repeatedly asked for a dedicated local point of contact for both sales and service,” said Louise Ringström Grandinson, CEO of MotionTech. “Kristian’s appointment lays that groundwork as MotionTech positions itself to serve a US automation market set for substantial growth in the coming years.”
The new local presence will make it easier for MotionTech to work more closely with customers and partners, while also creating the infrastructure needed to scale its offering across North America.
A major opportunity for automation
The US represents one of the world’s largest and most dynamic markets for industrial and warehouse automation.
Manufacturers, distributors and logistics operators are continuing to invest in automation as they look to increase efficiency, improve resilience and remain competitive in an increasingly demanding market.
“The US represents an enormous opportunity,” said Kristian Hulgard, Executive Sales Director, USA.
“I’m excited to build something meaningful here from the ground up. American manufacturers and distributors are investing heavily in automation to stay competitive, and MotionTech brings exactly the kind of proven, high-quality technology they are looking for.”
“My focus from day one will be on getting our products in front of the right customers, building up a distribution network and establishing MotionTech as a serious partner in this market.”
A long-term commitment to North America
With Kristian at the helm, MotionTech’s US operations will begin ramping up immediately.
The Dallas–Fort Worth area will serve as the initial base for the company’s North American expansion, providing a strong location from which to reach customers across the United States and develop a broader local organization over time.
“We are delighted to have Kristian leading this effort,” added Louise Ringström Grandinson.
“His experience building commercial operations, combined with the strengths of our different technologies, gives us real confidence as we enter one of the world’s most dynamic markets.”
“Dallas–Fort Worth gives us an excellent foundation from which to serve customers across North America, and this launch reflects our long-term commitment to making motion smarter for businesses around the world.”
